Title : Tuning properties of Manganese Vanadium Oxide for all-oxide Solar Photovoltaics and Gas Sensors
Description: Demonstrated the first epitaxial thin film of MVO, deposited using PLD. Optimized the growth by tuning parameters such as temperature, O2 pressure on different substrates. Characterized the films using HR-XRD RSM, AFM, SEM, UV-Vis spectroscopy, 4-probe electrical measurements.
Title : Development of ac-Hall experimental setup
Description: Designed & developed a prototype setup to study charge-transport of low mobility and highly resistive samples.
Advisor : Prof. Yogendra K. Prajapati
Position : Undergraduate Researcher
Duration : July 2018 – April 2019
Title : Mn doped ZnO-based wrinkle-network nanostructured thin films
Description: A wrinkle network root-like morphology of pure and Mn doped ZnO was deposited on ITO-coated. Between pure ZnO and 5-at% Mn-doped ZnO the grain size decreased from 65.6 Å to 52.3 Å and optical bandgap increased from 3.26 eV to 3.32 eV. Annealing temperature (Mn-doping) was used to increase (decrease) defect-based visible photoluminescence properties and facilitate a visible-light response.

Title : Novel Lithography and Fabrication approach for GaN-based Nanowire LEDs
Description: Performed the growth optimization of polymer micro spheres on GaN structures grown by MOCVD on sapphire and patterned sapphire substrates for novel lithography purposes and fabrication of Quantum-well Nanowire LEDs by top-down approach.

Title : Simulation and Fabrication of Polymer-based Photonic Devices
Description: Designed and fabricated 1) parabolic polymer-based photonic structures and 2) platform (~60 µm) to lift photonic devices; to overcome the difficulty in coupling the light from an optical fibre to a polymer-based photonic device. Simulations were performed in Lumerical MODE Solutions and two-photon polymerization was employed to fabricate the structures.
Title : Polymer-based centre-tapered whispering gallery spiral
Description: Designed a spiral waveguide structure using two interleaved branches (tapered at the centre to enhance the evanescent field). Size-selective (10 nm – 100 nm) detection of a single gold nanoparticle using the corresponding wavelength shift in the output characteristics of the device was achieved in simulation studies. Device was fabricated using two-photon polymerization (DLW).

Title : Synthesis of Pure and Al, Mn-doped ZnO-based nanostructured thin films
Description: Synthesized pure and doped-ZnO based nano-urchins, nanorods, nanowires and wrinkle-network nanostructured thin films by employing spin-coating, vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) and hydrothermal technique. The change in bandgap after doping with Al/Mn was studied using UV-Vis spectroscopy and the elemental composition was determined by EDS. Also contributed to a project on the simulation of high-k dielectric TFTs.
